PSAT Testing Information for registered Juniors

On October 13th, the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying
Test) will be administered to juniors who signed up and completed pre-registration through the PushCoin webstore. Registration closed on September 14th, but there are a limited number of exam seats left. To be placed on the waitlist please contact Mr. VanKampen.
The PSAT/NMSQT assesses reading, writing, language and mathematics reasoning focusing on knowledge and skills predictive of college and career readiness and success. This testing
experience will help prepare students for the experience of taking the SAT, which they will be
required to do in the spring of their junior year. Additionally, juniors may qualify for entry into national scholarship programs through the PSAT/NMSQT. Students are also encouraged to go online to for additional test preparation resources related to the PSAT.
Students should prepare for testing on October 13th by:
• Getting a good night’s sleep and eating a nutritious breakfast.
• Being on time for school. Testing starts promptly at 7:25 AM.
• Keeping cell phones in their lockers or leaving them at home.
• Bringing two #2 pencils, a calculator, student ID, and a healthy snack to testing.
This year, PSAT testing will take place in the field house. A link to testing seating assignments
will be posted online and in the atrium by Monday, October 11th.
Students’ scores will be available through their College Board accounts in December. Students
new to PSAT testing are encouraged to create a College Board account using their personal email address. Please contact your student’s school counselor if you have questions regarding

Financial Aid Night Video Recording

On Thursday, September 16th, Waubonsie Valley hosted a financial aid night with guest
speakers from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). Families who were unable to
attend the presentation are encouraged to watch a recording of the evening here: The video recording has also been shared with senior students
via their counselors Google Classroom.

Due to sharing permissions, this video will not be published publicly and must be shared
directly with parents and students.

SAT Student Guide

The SAT Student Guide is a tool created by the College Board in order to help students prepare for the SAT. It will help students become familiar with the test questions, instructions, and scoring. Further, it provides sample questions.

Parent Diversity Advisory Council [PDAC]

The Parent Diversity Advisory Council facilitates monthly discussions to promote collaboration amongst parents and district staff to address equity and diversity, and share best practices in order to improve experiences and opportunities for all students. The meetings are open to District 204 parents, staff, and community.
