– Break out sessions on Tuesday’s and Friday’s during lunches. These sessions are open to all students. Guest speakers, artists, poets, alumni will be sharing some information about their careers, college, share poetry and art as well. There will also be a rep from Avon coming to talk about African American skin care
– Professionals’ Day, Feb 16th in the LMC. A panel of African American professionals from the community has been put together to come and share with the students. This event will run during the lunch periods. We are targeting African American students. Students have to sign up and get permission to attend. Lunch will be catered in for $5/person. The panel discussion portion will also be open to Business, Art and other classes to attend.
– Movie Screening – Feb 21st @ 3pm in room 156. A historic film or documentary will be shown followed by a group discussion. All WV students are invited to attend. Concessions will be available for purchase.
– Program – Monday, February 27th at 7pm in the auditorium. Motivational Speaker Phil Jackson will return to be our keynote speaker. Mosaic choir, step team and BSA student performances. $2 entry at the door. This year, vendors will be set up in the auditorium hallway selling showcasing, skincare, African art and apparel, and The Men’s Wearhouse promoting Prom tux rentals to name a few. Also, the first 150 guests to arrive will receive a “welcome bag” with special offers and gifts.
