ACT-SO will be partnering with DeVry University again this year to hold a 3-day Summer STEM Camp at DeVry’s Addison Campus from Wed., June 25 – Fri., June 27. The STEM Camp is open to all students who will be in high school this fall. The cost is $40 and space is limited. The $40 registration fee must be mailed to DeVry to complete the registration process. See attachments for camp and registration details.
As you know, ACT-SO is an academic improvement and cultural enrichment program for high school students of African descent. If you know of ACT-SO eligible students who may be interested in STEM, please notify them of the STEM Camp and have them click on “DuPage ACT-SO” when they register online. In addition to the STEM Camp, ACT-SO will have two days of field trips prior to the STEM Camp on Mon., June 23 and Tues., June 24 for ACT-SO eligible students. The field trips will be to Argonne National Labs, BP, Outerwall and Fermilab. Transportation and meals will be provided. Please have ACT-SO eligible students or their parents to e-mail me at amania.drane@dupageact-so.org once they have registered for the STEM Camp if they would like to also participate in ACT-SO’s two day field trips. We have already exceeded our numbers from last summer, so please have them to register soon and contact me as space is limited.
